He recently opened up about why he won't be getting any more new tattoos
Adam Levine may be working on new music, but one thing that he won't be working on is getting new tattoos.
In an interview with Today.com published on Friday, July 11, the Maroon 5 frontman, 46, spoke about his extensive body art, noting that his latest tattoo was a refresh on his left arm sleeve — and it might be his last.
While the musician said that getting fresh tattoos is "fun," he called the overall process "painful."

“I covered up my sleeve with another sleeve. Who does that? What is wrong with me? Psychotic," Levine said.
The singer further emphasized that his latest tattoo session "really hurt," deciding ultimately that "he's kind of done with the pain."
"Now, I've softened. Now, when I get a tattoo, I’m like, 'This hurts so badly.' Like, 'What’s wrong?' We're done," he said.

When asked which was his favorite tattoo, the singer said there were "too many" to choose from before ultimately telling Today.com that his favorite were the ones on his hands, which spell out "true love" across his fingers.
The choice was a surprising one from Levine, who told PEOPLE when he graced the cover of PEOPLE in 2013 as the Sexiest Man Alive that his hands and legs were off-limits when it came to tattooing.
"I don't do below the waist. You can't do the hands, that's sacred too, that's what you make things with, I'm tied to my hands. I just can't do hands," he said at the time.
During his interview with PEOPLE, the performer also revealed that his first tattoo was that of a dove on his upper left bicep.
"I was 21. It was five days after 9/11. I felt this need to say something with this peaceful thing on my body" he said.

"I’m really excited about it. An album is coming over the summer, non-specifically around the summertime. And then, even more non-specifically, there is a tour coming in the fall-ish," he said during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
