Ariana Biermann is opening up about her parents Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann's rocky divorce.
While speaking with PEOPLE alongside her Next Gen NYC costars on Wednesday, July 9, Ariana, 23, shared that she is having a hard time navigating it all — and is saddened by the situation.
"I think it sucks for anybody experiencing their parents going through a divorce," she says. "I love my parents' love. I know people have a lot of opinions about it, but it was really such a pure, honest love. They acted like they fell in love yesterday up until, of course, the end."
"I think it's just really sad overall, and it's been a tough couple of years," she adds.
Ariana said that it's also been challenging to stay out of the fray when she sometimes feels like she's caught "in the middle" of her parents' "battles."
"I'm trying to find my way still in the middle of it without disrespecting anybody or making anybody upset," she explains. "But I think it gets hard at times, and unintentionally, you can be going more towards one side than the other when they're fighting the kind of battles that my parents are going through right now."

Real Housewives of Atlanta alum Kim, 47, and former NFL player Kroy, 39, initially filed for divorce in April 2023 after nearly 12 years of marriage. Just months later, in July 2023, they called off the divorce, with a source telling PEOPLE at the time that the two were "trying to make it work for the kids."
Kroy filed for divorce for a second time in August 2023.
The exes share kids Kroy "KJ" Jagger Jr., 14, Kash Kade, 12, and twins Kaia Roes and Kane Ren, 11. In 2013, Kroy adopted Ariana and her 28-year-old sister, Brielle Biermann, Kim's daughters from her previous marriage.
After filing for divorce, Kroy filed for sole legal and physical custody, according to documents obtained by PEOPLE. Documents previously obtained by TMZ showed that Kim is pursuing primary physical custody and joint legal custody of her four minor children with Kroy.
Since then, the divorce proceedings have remained contentious. Kim recently addressed some of the public chatter about their split while appearing as a guest on one of Kristin Cavallari’s live podcast shows for her Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour earlier this year.
During the conversation with Cavallari, 38, Kim hit back at claims that she "spent all of Kroy's money."
“I've made way more than Kroy. Kroy's last NFL season was in 2015, just so we're clear. We're in 2025, and he just got a job in March of 2024," she said.
“I've worked my a-- off to provide for my family and my children," she continued. "This man has not paid a bill in this house in years. Even with a job, he hasn't paid a bill in this house in years. Not clothes for my children, not extracurricular, nothing."

Kim also alleged that Kroy sold her and daughter Brielle's jewelry. “He stole every piece of jewelry I've ever owned in my life prior to him, as well as Brielle's, and sold it all,” she claimed. “Every piece I've ever owned in my life. Every piece. I had my engagement ring and my earrings because they were hidden in my bra.”

Speaking with PEOPLE at the Next Gen NYC premiere party on June 2, Ariana shared that her current dynamic with Kroy has been complicated.
“It goes through waves a little bit,” she said at the time. “The divorce has been very difficult and very messy, and my mom is my best friend, and it's really hard to watch.”
“A lot of these things go on, but I try to keep it separate, so we go in waves,” she added, noting that she and Kroy were “going to talk soon.”
