They first encountered each other just after Amurri's divorce from her ex Kyle Martino. At the time, Amurri was also pregnant with her third child with Martino, son Mateo Antoni
"I've always believed in destiny when it comes to relationships and that whatever is meant for you will find you," the influencer reflected in her video
Eva Amurri is looking back on the earliest days of her marriage.
In a TikTok posted on Thursday, June 26, the Happily Eva After creator recalled what was happening in her life when she met her husband, Ian Hock. At the time, Amurri, 40, was newly divorced from her previous relationship with Kyle Martino and "over seven months pregnant with my ex's baby," as she explained in the video.
"Not traditional, obviously. And it had its challenges, obviously," she continued, noting that she hadn't dated since her early twenties. "I was so surprised by how much better it is dating in your late thirties, early fourties."

Amurri shares three children with Martino, whom she divorced in March 2020. Together, they are parents to daughter Marlowe Mae, 10, and sons Major James, 8, and Mateo Antoni, 5.
In her recent TikTok post about meeting Hock, the influencer continued to discuss her dating philosophy and why she believes her marriage was a result of fate.
"I've always believed in destiny when it comes to relationships and that whatever is meant for you will find you," said Amurri, whose mother is Susan Sarandon. "If I hadn't been at that exact restaurant that exact night where I met my husband, or if I hadn't been in the place emotionally where I was in my journey, I may not have even noticed the things about Ian that make him perfect for me."

Today Martino and Amurri continue to co-parent together, though after they split, she made the decision to deliver the baby without her ex in the room. The mom wrote that his presence "wasn't going to feel right" in a update on her Happily Eva After blog at the time.
"Our intimacy level has totally changed now that we aren't a couple, obviously, and in order to really let go and allow labor to progress (especially with a home birth) it's so important to feel completely at ease in your body and support," she explained in the post from 2020.
