A source close to Perry reveals that "she's still doing great," despite never seeing herself "as a single mom"

Katy Perry is adjusting to a new role after her split from fiancé Orlando Bloom.
Amid the former couple's split, a source tells PEOPLE the "California Girls" singer, 40, is adjusting to her new role as a single mom to daughter Daisy Dove, 4. While the source says Perry "never saw herself as a single mom," the insider notes that the singer is "still doing great."
"She never saw herself being a single mom," the insider tells PEOPLE. "She's felt a lot of pressure about her tour and now this. It's been a lot for her. She's still doing great though."

Bloom and Perry welcomed their first child together — Bloom's second after son Flynn Bloom, whom he shares with his ex-wife, Miranda Kerr — on Aug. 26, 2020.
"It's the best," Perry told Variety in September 2021 when discussing motherhood. "Everything that's supposed to fade away fades away, and a balance comes in."
PEOPLE confirmed Perry and Bloom's split after nine years together and six years engaged.
"She's happy and just focused on her tour. Her daughter is with her and they're sightseeing and having fun," a source told PEOPLE of the "Dark Horse" singer and Daisy.

The mother-daughter duo recently enjoyed time together alongside Bluey and Bingo from the Australian children's television show Bluey. On Wednesday, June 18, the "Teenage Dream" singer shared a carousel of photos on Instagram from her time spent Down Under during the Australia leg of her Lifetimes tour. In a few photos, Perry could be seen meeting the iconic characters.
In one snap, Perry wore dog ears like Bingo's, holding hands with Bluey and Bingo in front of a forest backdrop. A second photo showed her daughter wearing a glittery Bluey dress, holding her stuffed animal in her hand.
She later included another photo of Daisy, who was pictured holding a huge pink cotton candy that blocked her face. The toddler had on a brown fuzzy coat as she stood on the street.
"AUS side quest tiddly bits weee 🤸🏻♀️🇦🇺," Perry wrote in her caption.
