Niecy Nash-Betts is still holding this grudge against longtime friend Colman Domingo.
Niecy, 55, wed her wife Jessica Betts in 2020, with Domingo, also 55, serving as the officiant. During the Tuesday, June 24, episode of Today With Jenna & Friends, the actress reflected on her wedding day – and the vibrant yellow ensemble Domingo wore to officiate.
"I married the greatest love of my life in my backyard with 24 people, and guess who my officiant was?" Betts asked Jenna Bush Hager. "None other than the Colman Domingo."
A photo of the couple's intimate summer backyard ceremony was then featured onscreen with the Sing Sing star standing behind them at the altar.
"There's Colman!" she pointed out. "Now, I have a grudge against him, because I don't know what he's wearing. And I never forgave him for that. I'm like, it's a wedding!"

Hager, 43, then requested that the Today team zoom in to the photo so that she could get a proper look at Domingo's outfit, which was comprised of an abstract black and yellow suit, a checkered top, and white sneakers.

"He just looked like a beautiful bumblebee, but I said not for… you're my officiant!" Betts said. "You don't got black slacks laying around? It just made me so upset."
Domingo is known for his daring fashion choices, and he recently served as a co-chair at the 2025 Met Gala, for which the theme was Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.
Before her marriage to wife Jessica, Niecy was previously married to Don Nash from 1994 to 2007 and Jay Tucker from 2011 to 2020. She revealed on Today that her now-wife is her "soulmate."
"See the first two times I was married, I was married to men and now I'm married to a woman," Betts explained. "And I don't think it's about the gender that makes it special. It's just… I met my soulmate, you know what I mean? I met my soulmate. I wasn't living a sexually repressed life where I'm like, 'Oh my God, I really want to be married to a woman!' No. I just met the most beautiful soul."
Niecy then reflected on her role in the LGBTQ+ community. "I was adjacent. I was an ally, but now I'm a card-carrying member," Betts said.

The Grotesquerie star then joked, "And here's the problem with it: I didn't get a package. I didn't get a manual. I didn't get a toaster, a gift. My friends — I have friends in the community! I thought there was gonna be a parade outside of my house. I got nothing, guys! Nothing! But now I'm in all the Pride parades."
Nash and Domingo co-starred in the 2014 historical drama film Selma, which told the story of the 1965 Selma to Montgomery voting rights marches in Alabama that were led by Martin Luther King Jr. John Lewis, and more civil rights leaders.
