Soap fans have an exciting new book to pick up later this summer. Fan favorite actress, Louise Sorel, has announced the release of her upcoming memoir to add to their reading list.

This August, Sorel will release her book, "If There Were No Dogs" : Musings and Mutterings.

The book is described as; "The book is a collection of prose pieces and poems by actress Louise Sorel drawn from her life, childhood, and career. Her father was a Hollywood movie producer and her Egyptian-born mother an actress and musician. Louise Sorel began her career on Broadway with actors such as Art Carney, Charles Boyer, and Rita Moreno, and toured with George C. Scott, Walter Pidgeon, and many others. She guest-starred in dozens of TV shows and movies such as Bonanza, Route 66, Kojak, Medical Center, The Flying Nun, Airplane 2, Plaza Suite, Star Trek, and many others. She appeared as Augusta Lockridge on the show Santa Barbara, and has starred as the iconic character Vivian Allemain on the show Days of Our Lives for many years. Louise's life and adventures from which this book comes have been motivated by her love of the theater, her devotion to dogs and other animals, and her many travels."

Sorel made a return earlier this year to Days of Our Lives where her character Vivian Alamain helped her pseudo son Philip take back control of his birthright Titan Industries. After setting her schemes in motion, she left for Europe, reuniting with Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) on her way out of town.

This November, Days of Our Lives will mark 60 years on air. To highlight the anniversary, the writing team Paula Cwikly and Jeanne Marie Ford announced plans for a huge gala celebration. The writers teased this gala will be filled "with the return of many familiar faces, leading to a new umbrella story that takes us into the new year."

Some of the confirmed familiar faces this fall include: Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford), Jennifer Deveraux (Melissa Reeves), twins Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) and Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney), and her son Will Horton (Chandler Massey).

Days of our Lives streams weekdays on Peacock.

"If There Were No Dogs": Musings and Mutterings is available for preorder now, and will be released on August 6th.
